ONLINE CHECK-IN
Passengers travelling with British Airways, KLM and Virgin can now check-in online via www.business-travel.net

EASTERN AIRWAYS
Following the success of Eastern Airways London City connection from Newcastle the carrier is to take over the route previously operated by Air Wales between Newcastle and Cardiff. The three times daily service will commence on the 24th April.


EMIRATES
Dubai based airline Emirates is to commence a double daily service between Dubai and Perth. Initially the operation will be four times per week increasing to daily by September. They are also to commence a new service to the Indian city of Kolkata and the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa. From the 1st June the minimum connecting time in Dubai will increase from 45 to 75 minutes to cope with the extra traffic using Dubai.    

ON BUSINESS
British Airways On Business members can now redeem your on business points for flight upgrades.

AMERICAN AIRLINES
American are to introduce new lie-flat seats to their fleet of Boeing 767-300 and Boeing 777 aircraft. They also intend to introduce a new First Class product.

BRITISH AIRWAYS CONNECT
British Airways Connect is to begin a London City to Milan Malpensa service from the 2nd May.


VIRGIN ATLANTIC
A new service between Heathrow and Dubai was launched on the 28th March with four flights per week. This will increase to a daily service from 1st June.

GULF AIR
Gulf Air will double the number of flights to Muscat from Heathrow from the 3rd April 06.

EASYJET
Easyjet have introduced on-line check in for their flights from Newcastle. Passengers can check-in and print their own boarding pass from home, proceed straight to security on departure and save waiting at check-in counters.


SAS
Scandinavian Airlines are to introduce new daily service between Stansted and Helsinki, a twice weekly Newcastle to Bergen and four times weekly Edinburgh to Bergen.

  
EMIRATES
Emirates have introduced some special upgrades from Economy to Business Class and from Business Class to First Class on certain routes. Call reservations for details.
 

BRITISH AIRWAYS
British Airways plan to make their domestic check-in the best possible experience by further
Embracing technology, simplifying procedures and upgrading facilities during the next two years ahead of its move into Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5.  The airline will introduce improvements to check-in, baggage handling, onboard seating allocation, airport lounges and aircraft boarding.
The first change is to be launched from April 25, when the airline introduces across-the-board self service check-in for customers travelling on UK domestic flights and from this date the only way for travellers to check-in will be online or at an airline kiosk. 


HEATHROW TERMINAL 2
Heathrow's Terminal 2 is to close after 53 years when the new Terminal 5 opens in March 2008.

Comparing performance data from industry regulator the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and from GNER reveals that during 2005 almost 89 per cent of GNER trains arrived on time versus 76 per cent right time arrival record for air travel.
